Paying it Forward​

Our family takes great pride in carrying on Steve's legacy. He was an incredible person—son, brother, uncle, husband, father, athlete, physician, and loyal friend. Our inaugural golf outing took place in June 2016, and it has continued to be a success each year thanks to the generous support from participants, donors, and sponsors.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has reached out and offered their assistance to our organization. All funds raised to date have been directed toward three important causes: (1) student-athlete education at Michigan State University through a Scholarship Endowment, (2) the Munn Arena Renovation Project (with a new Team Physician office dedicated in Steve's honor), and (3) advancing esophageal cancer research via the Esophageal Cancer Awareness Network (ECAN).
Since 2021, The Stephen Swistak, M.D. Memorial Fund has partnered with The Rainbow Connection to fulfill life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. These wishes can significantly impact the lives of children battling their illnesses, helping them feel stronger, more energetic, and more willing to fight. We hope that fulfilling a child's wish can complement their treatment and contribute to a positive outcome. To date, the Swistak Memorial Fund has granted wishes for trips to Walt Disney World for eight children!
