Paying it Forward​
​
Our family is deeply honored to carry on Steve’s legacy. He was an extraordinary person—son, brother, uncle, husband, father, athlete, physician, and loyal friend—and this event is a meaningful way to celebrate his life and the impact he continues to have on so many.
​
Since our inaugural outing in June 2016, this event has grown each year thanks to the generosity of our participants, donors, and sponsors. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported our mission.
To date, funds raised have supported several important initiatives: student-athlete education at Michigan State University through a scholarship endowment, the Munn Ice Arena Renovation Project (including a Team Physician office dedicated in Steve’s honor), and advancements in esophageal cancer research through the Esophageal Cancer Action Network (ECAN).

Since 2021, the Stephen Swistak, M.D. Memorial Fund has also partnered with The Rainbow Connection to grant life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. These experiences provide joy, strength, and hope during incredibly challenging times. We are proud to share that the fund has granted eight wishes—sending children and their families to Walt Disney World.
